Teaching Approaches
Why me?
I have been teaching for more than 15 years. During this time I have provided my students with high quality, exclusive and constantly updated services, which have allowed many people in different countries where I have worked to acquire communicative skills to successfully express themselves in English, Italian, Spanish and French.
I am an experienced teacher and I always adapt myself to my students and guide them to reach the necessary skills to achieve their goals.
I strive to bring out from them the same passion for languages I have, to also teach them the culture and civilization related to the languages they study. At the same time I daily insist on the fact that to achieve their goals, they need a lot of discipline and perseverance in studying, a great motivation, a total commitment because each language needs more than a life to be learnt. It is a long process, but it certainly rewards the effort. René Descartes, a seventeenth-century French philosopher, said: "The little I have learned is worthless compared to what I ignore and do not despair to learn.
When a process is long, it is very easy to be distracted during the journey, moving away from the initial goal. For this reason, it is necessary to be constant and it is very important that students enjoy the whole process: watching movies, listening to music, etc.
I also take into account that the personality of each human being and other emotional variables have a direct effect on the learning of any foreign language. The affective variables which affect students are usually motivation, anxiety and self-confidence.
I firmly believe that these factors influence the sub consciousness of learners.
The Communicative Approach, which is also known as Communicative Language Teaching, as a Notional-Functional Approach or as a Functional Approach), is the one I use in my classes, since I believe that learning a foreign language is successfully achieved by having to communicate a real meaning. "What we have to learn to do, we learn by doing" Aristotle said in 350 BC. When students are involved in real communication, they use their natural language acquisition strategies.
Communication is not just a product, but a process, which is carried out with a specific purpose, among specific speakers, in a precise situation. Therefore, it is not enough to study an infinite list of words or grammatical rules; it is essential to learn to use this knowledge and travel to the countries where it is spoken.
I'll be delighted to be your teacher!
