French for Children
Babies are able to distinguish all languages up to 8 months. Since then, they focus their efforts on understanding the language spoken around them, as it was published in the PNAS journal in July 2014 after a study conducted by researchers at the Institute for Learning and Brain Sciences of the University of Washington (USA).
To ensure that a language is learned naturally, it is spoken without accent and with fluency, it is advisable to start learning as soon as possible. And this much more when the language is French.
Some characteristics are only learned more effectively, as it is the case of pronunciation, when children are very young. At this age I sing songs, I read stories to them, I transmit the language orally and I introduce them to a true bilingualism.
As they grow older, I usually talk about greetings (formal and informal), parts of the day, days of the week, months of the year, family, school, colours, numbers, toys, animals, parts of the body, basic verbs, basic adjectives, clothing, fruit and vegetables, house etc.
